EGYPT'S NEW LEASE ON LIFE : REVISION OF THE ISLAMIST TAINTED CONSTITUTION UNDERWAY

The much reviled changes hastily apported to the Egyptian Constitution under Morsi are being rectified, and in so doing allowing for a swifter scheduling of the anticipated elections.

The military is shooting for a quick timeframe, with elections possibly underway in less than six months.  A panel of 10 legal experts will present the proposed changes by the end of next month.

Ali Awad Saleh, a constitutional affair adviser, has said he will take advice from all spectrum of society, be it citizens, political parties or otherwise.

The Muslim Brotherhood for its part is not ready to relinquish the advantages afforded it by the changes made during Morsi's tenure.  Such advantages, although obtained through a democratic election, were seeking to destroy or block any future democratic challenges to its newly acquired powers. The Brotherhood is still calling furthermore, for the return of its elected leader, Morsi, who is still under house arrest.  Pro Morsi demonstrators are still taking to the streets. Some of the most radical members have vowed to begin a jihad to restore the Brotherhood to power.

The secular alliance, called National Salvation Front expressed its gratitude for the changes and called a great step towards a betterment of Egypt's future.
