JAPAN HUNTS ITS FIRST 'SERIAL' KILLER

Japanese authorities are on the hunt for a 63 yearl old man who is believed to have killed at least five people, and also burned down their house after the murder.

One of the burned homes was just a few doors away from the fugitive's own home.

The killings were all in the small town of Mitake, in Yamaguchi prefecture.

Three of the victims were found inside two houses, and two more not far away inside their respective houses.

All of the victims were killed in the same identical manner.  For this reason a task force was put together to tackle the case in the manner employed when hunting a serial killer.

There is speculation that the man had some sort of grudge with his neighbors over petty disputes such as his habit of leaving his dog unleashed or other similar issues of friction.

The place where the murders occurred is quite remote. The suspect moved there 20 years ago to care for his parents and stayed after their death 7 years ago.  Since then however, things took a turn for the worse, and the murder suspect seems to have alienated himself with the community.

A poem hung on his door that read: "Setting on fire, smoke gives delight, to country fellows." The chilling note does not bode well for the suspect. His mind seems to be unstable, so that capturing him is a paramount objective for the Japanese authorities.
