As frightening as it sounds, the discovery of a ring that was planning to abduct children for the sole purpose of sexually assaulting them and then kill them was a confirmation of a terrifying trend: child pornography rings have evolved in sect like groups that are trying to experience violence at its lowest and most horrific form.
Eight people were arrested in Spain yesterday that allegedly were plotting an activity in which they would systematically target children for abduction, sex and murder.
The ring would also produce child pornography and sell it on the internet.
The investigators stumbled upon the group when a pedopornography chat room they were following uncovered plans from some of the members to abduct the children and then use them in orgies. The chats also revealed that the group had already fixed their sight on three children, who were in immediate danger.
The suspects were between the ages of 25 and 50. They all hailed from La Coruna, Pontevedra, Madrid and Malaga. Four of the suspects were immediately incarcerated to prevent the plans from being put in to action.
The suspects were charged immediately with a number of crimes, including human trafficking, sexual assault, murder and child pornography.
