WHERE'S YOUR ANDROID? IN SOMEONE ELSE'S COMPUTER

A bug has been found that has the potential for exploitation by hackers of every and each one of the Android phones now in circulation.

A firm, called BlueBox, has discovered the bug.  This loophole, or 'back door', has been in the phones since 2009, and it could have given access to hackers to every bit of information stored or streaming on an Android phones.  It can also be used to 'spam', and send junk messages from any Android phone.

Google has said that it has no comment to express on the discovery.

The bug apparently has this flaw due to the way it handles cryptographic verification of the programs installed on the phone, as a signature to check on that app's legitimacy or its status, as being tampered or not.  But the bug consists of a way to trick these Android checks so that malware can be installed and go unnoticed.

It can therefore take over the complete functioning of the phone and any subfunction of the same.

So far, there is no evidence that the loophole has been exploited.  Malicious hackers, furthermore, would have to supplant the normal functions of the Android by entering the Google Play store.
